Use this matching activity to reinforce your students’ understanding of fractions. This activity is a fun cognitively engaging task to ensure student comprehension and retention using fractions, pictures, and number lines. Simply print out the activity on card paper or regular paper, laminate, and cut them into individual cards. In total, there are 36 colorful and easy to read cards divided into sets of three equivalent representations of a fraction. This activity is aligned with following Common Core and IGCSE standards: Common Core Standards CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.1 Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts; understand a fraction a/b as the quantity formed by a parts of size 1/b. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.2 Understand a fraction as a number on the number line; represent fractions on a number line diagram. IGCSE Core Curriculum Standards C1.5 Use the language and notation of simple vulgar and decimal fractions and percentages in appropriate contexts. Recognize equivalence and convert between these forms.
